How You Can Help

The preservation and restoration of old structures is an expensive and time-consuming task. Most of the work must be performed by specialized craftsmen who research the history of the buildings and bring them back to adaptive use through careful and precise carpentry, glazing, stone work, painting, and other skilled trades. Your financial support will allow this important work to continue.

Many of our donors prefer to support a particular room or feature of a specific house; others prefer a more ambitious approach, including the sponsorship or purchase of an entire building (as in the case of the Johnson Mansion). Whatever level of gift you are considering, the volunteer work force of the Trust minimizes our operating expenses, insuring that your gift can be fully directed toward the preservation and restoration of the project of your choice. Our donor recognition program includes plaques and written recognition in our publications as well as more public recognition.

This site outlines our plans and our needs for implementing them. Whether you prefer to make a general donation to be applied at our discretion or seek to restore or support a particular room, project, or building, we need your support. Without it, we may miss the opportunity to preserve Wallingford's unique architectural heritage for our children and the generations of residents who will follow us.
